Excavation & Rock Work in Pecatu
Pecatu runs from Dreamland’s resort frontages to private villas cut into limestone bowls above Balangan. Both need the same two things: a breaker that knows the rock and a grading plan that balances what comes out against what goes back.

Bowls, benches and old quarry lines
Pecatu’s ground has more shape than the rest of the Bukit. Between Dreamland and Balangan the plateau dips into natural bowls, and decades of small quarrying left benches and cut faces that plots now build around. Practically, that means most jobs here are two jobs: breaking rock on the high side and placing engineered fill on the low side — which makes a proper cut and fill plan worth more here than almost anywhere. Balanced correctly, your pool excavation becomes your terrace fill and the truck count collapses.
The second Pecatu specific is water. Limestone drains through fissures, and owners are often told “it’s rock, water disappears”. Sometimes it does — into the neighbour’s cut, or out of a cliff face below someone’s terrace. We survey flow paths, cut channels into rock where the grade allows and build structured soakaways where it doesn’t, so drainage is designed rather than hoped for.
Scope range here is wide: resort-scale pads for developments along the Dreamland road, private pool pits broken into bowl walls with ocean-facing infinity edges, and driveways built on crushed spoil from the same plot. Everything starts with the free test dig that fixes your rock band in writing. Same machines and crews across the peninsula in Uluwatu, Ungasan and Bingin.

FAQ
Earthworks in Pecatu — FAQ
What is different about Pecatu’s limestone bowls?
Pecatu’s terrain dips into natural bowls and old quarry cuts, so plots often need both cutting and filling — rock broken on the high side, engineered fill placed and compacted on the low side. It makes balanced grading unusually valuable here.
Do you work on resort and multi-villa projects?
Regularly — the Dreamland–Balangan corridor is full of them. Same discipline as a private villa: survey first, grading plan with volumes, m³ pricing, verifiable levels, weekly progress the project manager can check against stakes.
How is drainage handled on rock plots?
Limestone drains through fissures, unpredictably — sometimes brilliantly, sometimes into a neighbour’s cut. We survey flow paths, use rock-cut channels and structured soakaways, and never assume “it’s rock, water will vanish”. See drainage systems.
Is a test dig really free even on big plots?
Yes — it takes an hour and it protects both of us. Rock hardness sets the price band (IDR 380,000–550,000/m³), and neither party benefits from discovering it mid-contract.
