Excavation & Earthworks in Canggu
Canggu is our base and our busiest patch: villa foundations in paddy clay, pool pits behind finished houses, drainage rescues and endless truck logistics through lanes built for scooters. If it involves moving Canggu ground, we’ve probably done it on your street.

Digging in Canggu: soft ground, tight lanes, wet feet
Canggu’s building boom sits on old rice terraces — which means three things for earthworks. First, paddy clay: soft, sticky, holds a vertical cut nicely but turns to glue on tracks and boots. Second, a high water table: from Berawa to Batu Bolong, dig two meters and you’ll usually meet water, so foundation digs and pool pits here run pumps as standard. Third, access: half the plots hide behind gangs where a standard excavator simply doesn’t fit — our minis and shuttle logistics were basically trained on this neighbourhood.
Typical Canggu jobs for us: strip footings for new villas between Padang Linjong and Nelayan, pool retrofits behind finished houses (the crane stays home, the mini walks in), French drain systems for gardens that flood every December, and septic upgrades for villas whose rental occupancy outgrew their tanks years ago. Spoil goes out through agreed truck windows — the banjar knows our plates, and the gang paving gets photographed before and repaired after.

FAQ
Earthworks in Canggu — FAQ
Can you get an excavator into a narrow Canggu gang?
Usually yes. Our mini excavators pass a 1.8 m opening, and we walk them in on plywood trackway to protect the paving. For genuinely machine-proof plots we run hand crews with power barrows. Access is the first thing we photograph on the free visit — and the quote names the machine that fits.
How bad is the water table for digging in Canggu?
Real but manageable: much of Canggu sits on old paddy with water 1–2 m down, less in the wet season. Foundations and pools here get a sump and pump from day one, and we sequence digs so concrete follows fast. It adds a line to the quote, not a surprise to the project.
How much does a pool dig cost in Canggu?
Standard 8×4 m pit in Canggu soil from IDR 8.5 million including haul-away with decent access; add 20–30% for gate-only access with soil shuttling. Details and what moves the number are on the pool excavation page.
Do you handle the banjar and neighbours for truck routes?
Yes — it’s half of what “local” means. We notify the banjar, agree truck hours around school runs and ceremonies, and keep gang paving photographed and repaired. Seven years of Canggu jobs means the officials already know our trucks.
